Homework for the week of November 25

Spelling words for the week: 1. side 2. then 3. house 4. shy 5. float We are working on long i this week (i_e, ie, y). Math: We will continue to work on subtraction and addition. Students will be creating expressions for the number of the day in their mathematician books this week thinking of part-part- whole. For example: 22 can be expressed as 20+2= 22, 18+4=22, 22-1=21, 22= 20+2, 22=16+6. Science: We will be investigating solids and liquids this week as well. We sent book orders home today and will be placing the order on December 5th after school.  As always, please don’t feel there is any obligation to buy. Crazy Hair/ Hat Day

Glen Stewart Primary will be having Spirit Day - Crazy Hair/Hat Day on Friday, November 29.  There will be a loonie donation that will go to Special Olympics.  

Homework & a future Fun Day at GSP!

November 29 is Crazy Hair/ Hat Day at Glen Stewart Primary. Kindergarten registration has begun for the 2020-2021 school year! Spelling: 1. bug 2. saw 3. new 4. sheep 5. feed We are focusing on long e  (eep, eed, eat, etc.) this week!  Math: Our mathematicians will be working on addition and subtraction this week. We will explore the tool of a number line, while practicing. Students will have a chance to jump the number line in our class, as well as have their own number line at their desks. We will continue to review our mental math strategies. The students have been asked to explain their thinking, after completing addition questions. This is a great question you can ask your children at home. As a class, we created our own bag of “Math Tricks” be sure to ask your children what their favourite tricks are!

Spelling: 1. what 2. who 3. went 4. pail 5. stay We are focusing on long a this week! Math: Our mathematicians will focus on ordinal numbers (1st, 2nd, 3rd, ....) this week. We have also been busy creating and building our Math Talk wall. New words this week include greater than, less than, greatest, and least.
